This Psilomelane bead was hand carved by an old man I met in Santa Fe. He has been carving stones all his life, but now he is getting on in his years and sticks to bead carvings, which I actually love more than intricate carvings. His love for what he does and his gentle nature assured me this was a special stone Psilomelane is a unique stone and you can even see some druzy indentations in the white part of the stone. There is not a lot written about Psilomelane, but I did find that it is a stone of self reflection, emotional healing and I did see signs of it being a good luck stone. I did some macramé and then braided the waxed cord, I also included a jade bead at the top so it is adjustable.
